Biography of Jonas Dubas

Jonas Dubas attended business school at the Faculty of Management at the University of Manitoba. He received his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in 1986. He then attended the Faculty of Law at Robson Hall and received his Law Degree in 1989.

After graduating from Law School, Mr. Dubas became a member of the Manitoba Bar and practiced as a Prosecutor for the Manitoba Department of Justice and dealt with child protection matters for Winnipeg Child and Family Services.

In addition to the above practice, while in Winnipeg, Mr. Dubas handled many complex cases involving Divorce and Commercial Litigation; in the latter case focusing on the areas of Real Estate Litigation, Debtor and Creditor Remedies, and Unjust Dismissal.

Mr. Dubas was called to the bar in British Columbia in December of 1993 and worked for the Federal Department of Justice as a prosecutor handling complex drug, tax, and regulatory prosecutions.

He then re-entered private practice and has been practicing in the area of domestic and commercial litigation since 1997. He has successfully put forward his client's positions at all levels of court in British Columbia. This has resulted in successful outcomes for his clients in areas that include 50/50 custody and access arrangements, complex asset division, and reduction or elimination of support payments.
